Terms of Service & Disclaimer
Thank you for trusting Nurcher with your family's care and education. These terms outline how we work with clients and what you can expect when using our services or website.
1. Services Provided
Nurcher offers prenatal education, in-home and virtual lactation support, and newborn care education. These services are educational in nature and designed to support, guide, and empower families during the transition to parenthood.
All services are provided by Lindsey Byars, RN, a NICU nurse with over 8 years of experience and a Certified Lactation Specialist (IBCLC pending). Services are not a substitute for medical care or diagnosis.
2. Payment, Scheduling & Cancellations
Payments are due at the time of service unless arranged otherwise.
We accept credit/debit cards, PayPal, or other agreed-upon payment methods.
Cancellations or rescheduling should be made at least 24 hours in advance. No-shows or late cancellations may be subject to a fee.
Please notify us as early as possible if you or your baby are ill—we’re happy to work with you.
3. California Clients – Insurance & Reimbursement
Under the Affordable Care Act and California law, lactation support is often covered by insurance, even from out-of-network providers. While Nurcher does not bill insurance directly, you may be eligible for reimbursement.
We recommend checking with your insurance provider to ask:
If out-of-network lactation services are reimbursable
Whether a referral or pre-authorization is required
What documentation (e.g. superbill, receipt, care plan) you’ll need to submit
Please see our Reimbursement Guide for help navigating this process.
4. Privacy & Confidentiality
We respect your privacy. Any personal or health-related information you share will be kept strictly confidential and used only to support your care. Your information will never be shared or sold.
5. Website Use
The content on this website is for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or replace medical advice. By using this site, you agree not to rely solely on its content for medical decisions.
6. Liability Disclaimer
The services and information provided by Nurcher are not medical advice and should not be used in place of care from licensed healthcare professionals. While Lindsey draws from her clinical nursing background, she does not act as your or your baby’s medical provider.
You should always consult your pediatrician, OB-GYN, or other licensed provider for medical concerns. Nurcher does not accept responsibility for any decisions made based on support or information provided.
By using our services or website, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and accept full responsibility for your care decisions.
7. California Scope of Practice Notice
As a Certified Lactation Specialist and Registered Nurse in California, Lindsey operates within the scope of her professional licensure and certifications. Services do not include the diagnosis or treatment of medical conditions and are not a substitute for medical care.
