Hi, I'm Lindsey Byars—founder of Nurcher, IBCLC, NICU registered nurse of 8 years, and proud mom to a busy toddler with another little one on the way.

My love for babies has shaped every part of my personal and professional life. Working in the NICU for nearly a decade gave me not only deep clinical knowledge but also a heartfelt appreciation for the delicate, beautiful early days of a newborn’s life. It also taught me how much reassurance, education, and hands-on support families truly need as they navigate those first weeks—whether in the hospital or at home. I’ve seen how empowering it is when parents are given the tools, knowledge, and reassurance they need to care for their little ones with confidence.

My own journey into motherhood was humbling and transformative. I faced unexpected challenges from a NICU admission to breastfeeding struggles, and that experience is what led me to become a lactation consultant. I know firsthand how emotional and overwhelming feeding challenges can be—and how powerful it is to have someone by your side who truly gets it. My personal experiences opened my heart to a new purpose—becoming a lactation consultant and supporting other parents through the highs and lows of feeding and newborn care.

Nurcher was born from that calling and why I created this practice: to offer warm, evidence-based support to families as they transition to life with a new baby. The name Nurcher is a play on the word nurture—a nod to the heart of what I do. It blends the roles of nurse and teacher, which is exactly what I bring to each visit: clinical experience from years as a NICU nurse, and the gentle, practical guidance new parents need.

At Nurcher, I'm here to support, educate, and walk beside you as you grow into this new chapter. Whether you're navigating breastfeeding, bottle feeding, newborn care, or just need a calm presence to walk alongside you, I'm here to help—offering both in-home services in Marin and Sonoma Counties, and virtual visits for families anywhere.
